Tallgrass Creek Welcomes First Residents to Santa Fe Ridge

Tallgrass Creek, a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Senior Living, recently welcomed the first residents of Santa Fe Ridge, a brand-new independent living building on the scenic, 65-acre campus in Overland Park.

With 96 new maintenance-free apartment homes, Santa Fe Ridge will support the community’s ability to meet growing demand for its active, engaged retirement lifestyle.

“As we celebrate 15 years of serving Kansas City area seniors and their families, it is remarkable to reflect on the continued growth of our community,” said Adam Dickson, executive director. “With the opening of Santa Fe Ridge, we are excited and proud to offer even more living options and services that enable seniors to pursue their interests, meet new people and enjoy a carefree lifestyle at a great value.”

All 13 floor plans, including six brand-new styles, boast deluxe appliances, upgraded lighting and flooring, and high-end finishes. Many offer residents private outdoor spaces, including patio, balcony or screened-in porch. For convenience and safety, under-building parking is also available.

In addition to beautiful new residences, Santa Fe Ridge will bring an array of fresh and exciting amenities to Tallgrass Creek’s already bustling campus. Community members will soon enjoy playing a match on the indoor pickleball court or meeting friends at Champions Restaurant, with outdoor dining, bar, lounge, and private dining room for group occasions.

Climate-controlled walkways will connect Santa Fe Ridge to Fountain View, another independent living residence building, as well as the Audubon Clubhouse, providing easy access to all of Tallgrass Creek’s amenities, including more restaurants, fitness center, indoor swimming pool, and on-site medical center.

The building is named for the historic Santa Fe Trail, which opened in 1821 and served as the most important route to the West before the era of the railroad. Of its approximately 750 miles, nearly two-thirds of the route lies in Kansas. A portion of the Santa Fe Trail even runs near the Tallgrass Creek campus, which has been designated a Certified Wildlife Habitat site by the National Wildlife Federation.

Tallgrass Creek is a non-profit continuing care retirement community located on a scenic 65-acre campus in Johnson County, developed and managed by Erickson Senior Living. Its more than 850 residents are served by a total workforce of more than 375 employees.
