Sean SandsChief Development Officer
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Sean served as a regional vice president and head of the Maryland corporate banking division of Wells Fargo. He holds a bachelor of business administration in business economics and a master of business administration degree from Loyola University Maryland.
Margaret SuitVice President, Development - Architecture
She also leads the management of the design process for all Erickson Senior Living developing communities as well the lifecycle and renovation process for existing communities. Her primary focus is to ensure that the building designs support the operational programs, conform to regionally-based market demands, and enhance the Erickson Senior Living experience for residents.
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Margaret worked as a project architect for an architectural firm specializing in the design of college campus and embassy buildings in the D.C. Metropolitan area. Margaret holds a bachelor of science degree in architecture from the University of Maryland, a master of arts degree in aging services management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and is a LEED-certified professional. She has completed coursework toward a Certificate in Aging at Johns Hopkins University. Throughout the years, Margaret has continued to keep current with industry trends by representing Erickson Senior Living as an attendee and speaker at industry conferences.
Steve MontgomeryVice President of Development and Entitlements
Throughout his career at Erickson Senior Living, Steve has been responsible for project management for multiple Erickson Senior Living communities. His development responsibilities ranged from initial site selection, due diligence, entitlements, and permitting through project completion and building turn-over.
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Steve was an associate project manager for over 14 years with a national civil engineering firm specializing in the design and permitting of many large-scale commercial, institutional, and residential projects in the Washington D.C. market. Steve holds a bachelor of science degree in urban planning from Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds a certificate from Johns Hopkins University in the NIC Seniors Housing and Care Program.
Scott GenslerSenior Vice President, Real Estate Acquisitions and Government Affairs
Scott oversees complex and major rezoning cases to ensure the entitlements required for large-scale development. Scott also is the executive responsible for developing, leading, and executing legislative and policy strategy for the company and managed entities.
Scott has over 25 years of experience in senior living, including development, acquisitions, finance, sales and marketing, and operations. Scott holds an M.B.A. from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College and a B.S. from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. He is very active in his local community and currently serves on the board of the JCC of Greater Baltimore and Beth Israel Congregation.
Dawn YeagerVice President, Development - Capital Projects and Continuing Care
Dawn also oversees building standards development, design, construction, and project delivery for the continuing care product line, including assisted living, memory care, long-term care, and short-term rehabilitation.
Projects typically include management and oversight of conceptual planning and design, development of project hard cost budgets, zoning and entitlement, and coordination with multiple business lines including Sales, Marketing, and Communications; Health Services; and Operations.
Dawn manages multiple in-house development professionals, as well as consultants during the production of construction documents, ensures that project-specific programmatic and financial goals are met or exceeded, provides communication of project milestones to various business lines, coordinates bidding and procurement of general contractor services, and oversees construction and turnover for each phase of the project. Dawn attended Pennsylvania State University where she received a bachelor of science in environmental resource management with a minor in environmental engineering.
J. J. WilhourSenior Vice President, Development
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, J.J. worked for the Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. He has a degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. He also serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the VT Blackwood Program in Real Estate.
Nancy Tegethoff BakerVice President, Market Intelligence
Her team's goal is to ensure that the voice of the consumer and its market realities are appropriately represented at Erickson Senior Living.
Nancy has spent most of her career in the senior living industry as a consultant and in-house researcher. Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Nancy headed up the research and strategy department for Vi, formerly Classic Residence by Hyatt. She has also worked in market feasibility and sales and marketing analysis for Marriott Senior Living Services and Howell Associates. Outside of the industry, she worked in primary market research as a B2B market research and strategy consultant on a wide variety of engagements for manufacturing and industrial clients and on the Senior Staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Nancy has an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland R.H. Smith School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Vanderbilt University.
Priya PrasadVice President, Development
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Priya managed worldwide project delivery for Ciena Corp, where she was responsible for new construction and renovation at Ciena campuses worldwide, as well as acquisitions and leasing strategy. She also managed construction for LifeBridge Health at Sinai, Northwest and Levindale facilities and worked on the acquisition of Carroll Hospital. As senior director of development, Priya manages a team working on the execution of independent living and health care capital projects at developing and mature campuses.
Priya received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Bangalore University (India) and holds a master’s degree in project management from Strayer University in Washington, D.C.
David BerrienSenior Director, Development
As senior director of development new construction, David has managed the expansion of Erickson Senior Living campuses in Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas. He has also provided senior management support for the opening of Avery Point in Richmond, Virginia.
Before joining Erickson Senior Living, David ran his own firm, TriMark Realty Capital Group, where he advised developers on multifamily real estate investments and related strategies. David graduated from The College of Wooster in Ohio with a degree in international relations and a minor in economics and finance. He also holds an associate’s degree in construction management from Montgomery College in Maryland.
Jason ErbSenior Director of Development
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Jason worked for several local senior living companies managing design, additions, renovations, and new construction projects. He has also worked on several acquisition projects. Jason graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of science degree in building construction.
Bryan PalmerSenior Director, Development - New Construction
Since joining Erickson Senior Living in early 2018, Bryan has lead the completion of neighborhood one at Lantern Hill in New Providence, New Jersey, along with multiple projects at Maris Grove in southeastern Pennsylvania; Tallgrass Creek in Kansas; and Ashby Ponds in Northern Virginia. Under Bryan's guidance, Erickson Senior Living's twentieth community, Siena Lakes in Naples, Florida, opened neighborhoods one and two.
In recognition of his achievements, Bryan was selected as a finalist for the 2019 Erickson Senior Living Corporate Leadership Award. Bryan graduated with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, where he was a member of the ACC Championship Terrapin Basketball team. He also earned his engineer in training certification from the State of Maryland.
Jeremy KeimigVice President, Development
His primary focus is to ensure that building designs support the operational programs and conform to regionally-based market demands while enhancing the Erickson Senior Living experience for residents.
Before joining Erickson Senior Living, Jeremy worked as a principal for an architectural firm specializing in the design of senior living and care environments, including, CCRCs, skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living, including Erickson Senior Living properties. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado and is a LEED accredited professional
