Erickson Senior Living, a leading developer and manager of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) nationwide, has opened its 5,000-square-foot Sales Center at Avery Point, a new distinctive senior living community coming soon to the Richmond suburb of Short Pump, Va., in Goochland County. This is Erickson Senior Living's 21st community and its third in Virginia — others include Greenspring and Ashby Ponds. Combined with the company's plans to build Woodleigh Chase at Braddock in Fairfax County, Erickson Senior Living will become the largest senior living provider in Virginia.

"The opening of the sales center is an exciting new chapter for Erickson Senior Living's newest community, and we are eager to meet our neighbors and share details about Avery Point's development plans and vibrant lifestyle," said Jim Antonakos, director of sales. "Those visiting the sales center will get a sense of all that is planned at Avery Point through full-color renderings, video and interactive displays." This includes being able to learn more about the variety of apartment styles and floor plans, the many amenities (e.g., restaurants, retail shops and fitness center) and convenient services (e.g., transportation, housekeeping), as well as activities, including wellness program offerings that will be available to help residents remain active and engaged. The sales team will also be offering virtual appointments for those who would prefer to learn more from the comfort of their home.

Community development expenditures are expected to exceed $500 million, which we anticipate will be 100 percent owner financed. Additionally, the campus will provide more than 500 new jobs and generate annual economic impact and expected tax revenues, anticipated to exceed $80 million and $2 million, respectively.

Construction of phase one, which includes the first two residence buildings and the community clubhouse, is scheduled to begin this year. Specifically, this first phase will include a total of 218 independent living apartment homes and a 43,000-square-foot clubhouse. The initial project phase will be completed in about two years. Independent living apartments will range from 800 square feet to 1,600 square feet. The first residents are expected to move in during 2022.

Upon full build-out, the community will feature 1,160 independent living apartment homes, 120 assisted living residences, 60 memory care residences and 60 skilled nursing beds. The 94-acre campus will include 14 individual buildings with a total of 2 million square feet of space.

Avery Point's name pays homage to an old English surname derived from the word "every." At Avery Point, we believe everyone deserves to be part of a vibrant and welcoming community – a community filled with opportunity and home to friendly neighbors.

The Sales Center at Avery Point is located at 12000 Avery Point Way, Richmond, Virginia. For more information about Avery Point, please call 1-800-260-3100 or request a brochure.
